Arnergy, co-founded in 2013 by CEO Femi Adeyemo and Kunle Odebunmi, is a Nigerian cleantech company dedicated to providing reliable and sustainable solar energy solutions to businesses and households. The company addresses Nigeria’s energy challenges by offering modular, scalable solar systems equipped with proprietary cloud-based, real-time energy management technology. This approach enables clients to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lower operational costs, and minimize environmental impact.

Since its inception, Arnergy has achieved significant milestones, including installing over 2.5 megawatts of electricity and providing more than 7 megawatt-hours of storage capacity to over 2,000 clients across Nigeria. In 2019, the company secured a $9 million Series A funding round led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, with participation from Norfund, ElectriFI, and All On Energy. This investment aimed to expand Arnergy’s reach, powering 35,000 businesses by 2023. ​

Arnergy’s innovative contributions to the renewable energy sector have garnered notable recognition. In 2021, the company received the Gold Award at the Africa Brand Awards for its impact on solar energy development in Nigeria. Additionally, Arnergy was acknowledged by Bill Gates’s Breakthrough Energy Ventures as one of the top cleantech companies poised to help combat climate change.
