Khoi Tech, a Soweto-based innovation company founded in 2020 by Seati Moloi, is reimagining South Africa’s tech future with an Afrocentric lens. The company rose to prominence with the Khoi Afriwatch1, a health and fitness smartwatch launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, which offers real-time tracking of heart rate, body temperature, oxygen levels, stress, and sleep—with 94% clinical accuracy. Khoi Tech has also developed the Khoi.health Group App, a platform that unifies data from multiple IoT devices, powering breakthroughs in health-tech and sports analytics.

Under Moloi’s leadership, the company has diversified its offerings with products like the Khoi Afripods1—true wireless earphones designed to support linguistic inclusivity—and solar technologies that make renewable energy more efficient and affordable across both urban and rural areas. Their innovations extend into smart city solutions, water conservation, and waste reduction, all while addressing broader issues of sustainability and digital access.
Khoi Tech’s impact has earned it a seat in the Manufacturing Group of the BRICS Business Council, enhancing its capacity to collaborate with global suppliers and tech innovators. Backed by a R500,000 grant from Telkom’s FutureMakers programme, the company is building toward a full-scale tech manufacturing and assembly hub in South Africa. Beyond products, Khoi Tech is nurturing future leaders through mentorships, internships, and STEM education—advancing inclusion in a tech industry still marked by underrepresentation.
